Industry talks

Deciding what you want to do after university can be difficult. Even if you do know what sector or industry you’d like to go into there are so many different roles available to you and it can be difficult to know exactly what’s involved in every role.

That’s why we believe it’s important for you to have the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals and hear about their experiences and first-hand knowledge of their industries.

At the University of Bedfordshire, many of our courses include regular industry talks and masterclasses from professionals in their fields. The speakers are able to provide you with valuable industry knowledge and answer any questions that you may have. Guests have included Bedfordshire alumni CBeebies presenter Gemma Hunt, and KISS FM presenter Sam Darlaston.

Every week students from the School of Art and Design benefit from a talk from someone currently working in the industry. Hear from two of our students about the experience:

We also arrange industry visits, to allow our students to gain further insights into their choosen industry. Students from our Business School recently visited the London Stock Exchange. Panagiotis Papioannou, MSc Management spoke highly of the visit:

The trip to the London Stock Exchange was a really great experience for me. I had the opportunity to see one of the most important financial centres in the world up close. The lecture was really interesting and helped me to understand the different financial procedures taking place within the London Stock Exchange. The speaker was engaging and developed a competition for us, making the trip both exciting and educational.
